The Market Grill
Over the years, I've unwittingly grown exponentially in love with everything a cow has to offer - stinky cheeses, creamy yoghurts,
Onion Matchsticks, $8, CW Burger Breakfast, $23
The burger was satisfying and really decent - great fries, juicy patty, and comes with the works, too (depending on what you choose). You see, the problem is, this island has nailed burgers. We have! Just as we've nailed thin crust pizzas. You can probably get something equally tasty for a lot less. The onion matchsticks turned out to be a strangely addictive nibble, albeit really greasy (visibly so). In the name of good health once is probably enough.
Wagyu Rump and Potatoes "Sarladaise-style", $39
Now the Wagyu rump was worth every penny. Let's face it - this won't be your top, top, top grade Wagyu - but with the Wagyu inflation going around, I am pretty happy to have found a place where I can afford more frequently Wagyu that was in all honesty, very tender and delicious. I think there is a level beyond which the marginal benefits of top, top, top, top Wagyu in terms of taste, texture, and so on just doesn't justify the hike in cost. For an everyday steak, this is great. Also, the "Sarladaise-style" potatoes, essentially potatoes cubes fried in duck fat, was done really well. It's hard not to love the crisp exterior that gave way to insides that were almost as soft as mash.
Bar Top Seating
That was all we had for dinner but I'm already planning the next one - air-flown boston lobsters instead of the burger, and another one of those steaks!
