Resort Décor
I say that to M a lot, and he stops me from my reckless gluttony most of the time. We've been making it a kind of game, watching what we eat on most days, then letting loose when we go for dinners. But on his birthday, we caved. Not that it was on purpose, I hadn't planned on it. We were done strolling the streets after dinner and wanted somewhere with a chilled vibe for some drinks and bites. A quick google later, we discovered the Bark Café and decided that was it.

Green Apple Soda, $4.90, Orange Juice, $3.90
It was a good call. The transporting resort décor was so reassuring. Am I the last person to know about the Bark Café? I honestly never knew that such a great watering hole existed in the East! The entire place is al fresco, but well-placed ceiling fans made it breezy and comfortable. We got a Green Apple Soda and Orange Juice - pretty laughable choices at a place like this, I know, but M drove and it's no fun drinking alone.

Fried Chicken Wings, $7.90 for 3, $14.90 for 6
Anyway, since we'd read that the Fried Chicken Wings were pretty remarkable, there didn't seem to be anything to do but get a basket of three for ourselves. I am so glad we caved. Despite how it looks, the batter was surprisingly light, and extremely tasty. I thought it tasted a little like the Ngoh Hiang Prawn Fritters that I'm so incredibly fond of, but M informed me that I was alone on this one. In any case, the wings were large, juicy and meaty and you can imagine that it was a truly glorious combination. Not quite the best in Singapore, but definitely a must-order if you're at the Bark Café. I can just imagine how well they would have gone with beer...
Recommendations: Fried Chicken Wings and Crayfish Hor Fun (mixed reviews on this one though)
I'll Skip: Orange Juice (rather diluted)
