Siew Mai
These were pretty good. The little morsels (slightly smaller than most offerings from other eateries) tasted more refined than those I've tried in other smaller eateries and restaurants in Hong Kong, and certainly had a good prawn to pork ratio.
Roasted Pork, HKD 88
And these were incredible! Truly. The roasted pork looked really tiny compared to those I've had at all the other Hong Kong roasted meat restaurants, but they blew me away. The crackling sincerely deserved its name. Every piece of roasted pork was perfectly crispy and flavourful, so much so that you sort of wish you never finish eating it. The roasted pork went well with the accompanying mustard sauce too. It was easily the best dish of the day.
Pan-fried radish cake
Crispy, light and flavourful. The pan-fried radish cake was very competently executed, and quite a delight.
Har gow
As with the siew mai, the har gow tasted very refined. I'm a huge fan of har gows, so I really enjoyed this dish. As with all har gows though, eat it while it's hot. Otherwise, the skin thickens and starts to stick, which is a great pity, don't you think?
Char siew cheong fun
I liked the char siew cheong fun, but would have preferred if the cheong fun was slightly thinner. Other than that, I don't remember much about the char siew, but the cheong fun was silky soft, and the sauce was perfect.
Crab meat dumpling in soup
Our last dish of the day didn't disappoint! The dumpling was filled with a generous amount of crab meat and other ingredients, and the soup was pretty flavourful. Yumm. This is hands down my best dim sum meal in Hong Kong up till now. Still, the prices ain't cheap. The both of us spent about 290 hkd, which could get us a lot more than just dim sum in most other places. If you're willing to take a little more out of your pockets, this would be a good place to go. Otherwise, there really are many other places in Hong Kong serving pretty good dim sum too, at half or even a fraction of the price!
