Handburger Singapore
The Handburger

It was a lovely girl's night out! P, Z and I headed to the Handburger at 313 for dinner. I've always been intrigued by the notion of well-made burgers, and those at the Handburger certainly look great.

Buffalo Wings, Winglets
Buffalo Winglets

There's an option to top-up a side and drink for either $4 or $6, so that's what we did. I chose the Buffalo Winglets, which came in a tangy sauce that was pretty enjoyable.

Pumpkin Crab Bisque
Pumpkin and Crab Bisque

Z had the Pumpkin and Crab Bisque, which was really interesting - a thick, creamy, pumpkin soup with a distinct crustacean, crab-infused flavour. If only these came with crab meat chunks!

Fried Calamari
Calamari

P decided on Calamari, which were crispy and pretty good. We loved the sauce that came with it, I believe it was spicy tartare.

Burger, Onion Rings, Mushrooms, Beef Patty
The Works Burger

As I was craving a juicy beef patty, I chose The Works Burger, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We loved the battered onion rings, sauteed basil pesto mushrooms, handmade aioli sauce (a light mayonnaise style sauce laden with fresh garlic) and the juicy beef patty. The bacon was really tough though. The burger would have been perfect if it was light and crisp! This all-rounded burger also comes with a sunny side up egg, sweet onion jam and handmade barbeque sauce.

Duck Confit Burger

Z had the Duck Confit Burger, which was really good too. The mandarin orange was sweet, and the grilled boneless duckleg confit was tender and flavourful. The burger also comes with handmade orange sauce and baby snow pea sprouts.

Portobello Burger, Parmesan Cheese
Stuffed Portobello Burger

P chose the Stuffed Portobello Burger, which none of us really took to. The stuffing is made from a combination of spinach, walnuts, parmesan cheese and beancurd, topped with breadcrumbs and oven-baked. The resulting stuffing was spinach dominated, along with fiber strands... I guess this could be better. Perhaps the portobello mushroom would fare better in say.. a Portobello Beef Burger. Wouldn't that be great?

Iced Lemon Tea

What I loved most about the Handburger is their attention to detail. They have different buns (caramelised onion, sundried tomato with olive, rustic, honey wholewheat multi-grain, etc) to suit different burgers. There's also a remarkable selection of handmade sauces: sweet chilli kaffir lime aioli, handmade tomato, garlic aioli, spicy tartare and herb tomato with garlic. I'm thinking of trying their Pulled Pork and Battered Dory Burgers next, gotta head back to this burger joint!
